Born on 31st November 1907 (1st qtr 1908 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:968), son of Charles and Annie CAHILL of 10 St.John's Terrace, Bury St.Edmunds (née ELSEY)

1911 census...Aged 3, he was at 10 St John's Terrace, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Charles CAHILL [51] labourer born Dublin; his mother Annie [40]; brothers Charles [13] Thomas [11] and Frank [9]; sisters Ettie [16], Ethel [4] and Florence [10 months]. All except his father were born in Bury St.Edmunds. The family were still there in 1939.

According to the newspaper report, he was killed instantly a road accident in Newport, Monmouth where he was presumably posted in an anti aircraft unit
