Born on 9th December 1919, 4th qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1848, son of William and Susannah Elizabeth CANDLER (née GARDINER) of 37 Cannon Street, Bury St.Edmunds.
He was an upholsterer by trade



Captured at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese on 15th February 1942. He died of malaria, and was originally buried in the cemetery at Tasao No1 Camp.
