1891 census...Aged 3, he was at 12 Brentgovel Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father William CATER [39] watchmaker/jeweller born Woolpit; his mother Ellen Maria [37] born Ashfield; sisters Annie May [16] dressmaker, Rose Keziah [14] and Ellen Maria [6]; brother William [4]. All the children were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

1901 census...Aged 12, he was still at 12 Brentgovel Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his parents; sister Ellen M; brother Willam

1911 census...Aged 22, assisting in family business, he was still at 12 Brentgovel Street, Bury St.Edmunds wih his parents; sisters Rose Keziah and Ellen Maria, both shop assistants; brother William, assisting in family business

The pension card has mother at 12 Brentgovel Street, Bury St.Edmunds.


He enlisted in Colchester.
Died in Fulham Military Hospital, having been evacuated after being gassed. Not having his servic record and him beng an Engineer, no way of saying where the gassing occurred, or when.
