Reginald Gordon Albert CLAXTON - aged 18
Kllled by enemy action on Thursday, 15th August 1940


Born on 11th July 1922 (3rd qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1659) son of Albert and Beatrice CLAXTON (née GRAY)



In 1939, aged 17, a maltings labourer, he was at 5 St. Mary's Place, Bridewell Lane, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Albert CLAXTON [53] a dustman; his mother Beatrice [46] and sister Agnes [19]


On 15th August 1940 a bombing raid on Portland saw a direct hit on Rodney House at HM Borstal Institution which killed four boys and severely injured several more.




Reginald Claxton is buried in Bury St.Edmunds Cemetery compartment 13a grave 71
