[3] born Auchterarder; grandmother Harriet GARDINER [75] born Moneydie, Perthshire. 1911 census...Aged 17 he was at Park Farm, Henham, Wangford with his parents; brother Allan Robertson [9] born Auchterarder; sisters Janet (Daisy) Tran [8] born Auchterarder, Mary Gardiner [5] and Isabella Stewart R [3] both born Newmarket. His father died in 1913. his mother moved to St.Mary's Lode, Bury S.Edmunds hence his link with Bury St.Edmunds |

He enlisted in London when resident in Hatfield. The battalion were in trenches at Neuville St.Vaast. With no service record available and Malcolm dying of wounds, it is impssible to say exacty where or when he was wounded.
