Born on 21st June 1909 at the "King of Prussia", Southgate Street, Bury St.Edmunds (3rd qtr 1909 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:915), son of Francis and Elizabeth DUTTON (née WATERS)
He married Florence May TUNBRIDGE in Bury St.Edmunds in 1929. Their daughter Josephine A was born in 1931 and their son Michael J E in 1939, both in Bury St.Edmunds.

1911 census...Aged 1, he was at "The King of Prussia", Southgate Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Francis DUTTON [36] publican; his mother E;izabeth [36] born Wroxham; brothers Wallace [12] and Frank [4]. One sibling had died. All except his mother were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

He was captured on 15th February 1942 on the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese. The cause of death has not been found (unless you can read Japanese)
