The pension card shows his mother moved from 5 Albert Row, Westgate, Bury St.Edmunds, to Bradfield St George.

He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds. There are seldom citations for the Military medal but he was awarded his in November 1916.
Dying of his wounds and no service record found, we cannot be sure when or where he was wounded. The battalion that day were attacking St.MARTIN-SUR-COJEUL.
The medal index card does not show a clasp for the 1914 Star, but this may well be due to no-one claiming it, since the Battalion were in action before 22nd November 1914 and George was out there in October.
