Born in Fornham St.Martin in 1st qtr 1905 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:967, son of Frederick and Harriet GIBBS (née SAYER).
He married Laura GALLEY in 4th qtr 1928 Bury St.Edmunds

1911 census...Aged 5, he was at SchoolLane, Fornham St.Martin with his father Frederick GIBBS [39]groom/gardener born Euston, Suffolk; his mother Harriet [38] born East Harling; brothers Sydney [15] farm labourer and William [14] farm labourer, both born in Thetford, sisters Eliza [13], Winifred [11], Florence [10], Violet [7] and Dorothy [1]; brother Arthur. All the younger siblings were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

Charles and Laura had 3 children according to the press, but only Sidney F [1929] and Jean M [1934] have been found. The family have not been identified in the 1939 register and no record for 30 Priors Road has been found.


He died in White Lodge Hospital, Newmarket from Lymphoma
