Born on 27th November 1915 (4th qtr Oxford 3a:1795) son of Reginald Henry and Mary Elizabeth HAZELL (née EDWARDS). They were at 11 Springfield Avenue, Bury St.Edmunds in 1939, father a builder's lorry driver, Reginald a milk roundsman (motor), sister Marjorie a clerk at W H Smith.




No record found of where or when he was wounded, but could not have been far from St Jean des Essartiers
