Nebulous connection with Bury St.Edmunds, seemingly through his wife. Born in 1912 in Didlington, Norfolk (4th qtr 1912 SWAFFHAM 4b:579) son of Hugh Richard and Mary Anne HUGHES (née BARBER).They were at Little London, Downham Norfolk in 1913, his father a house painter.
He married Stella Elizabeth LAMBERT in 1935 in Paddington. She was in Kensington in 1939, and she married John LOMAX in Bury St.Edmunds in 1956

Nothing found about him in the Bury Free Press.. He was killed on the retreat to Dunkirk, 2 days before the evacuation began
