Born at 5 Cannon Street on 11th April 1898 (2nd qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:822) son of Frederick William and Edith Elizabeth LOVICK(née CANT). Baptised at St.John's, Bury St.Edmunds on 8th June 1898

1901 census...Aged 2, he was at 110 Eastgate, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Frederick W LOVICK [39] verger's assistant, born Riddlesworth, Norfolk; his mother Edit [34] born Stoke by Nayland, brother Ernest W R [6] born Bury St.Edmunds; uncle Albert K LOVICK [19] born Riddlesworth

1911 census...Aged 12, he was at 117 Eastgate Street Bury St.Edmunds with his father Frederick William LOVICk [39] caretaker; his mother Edith Elizabeth [44]; brother Ernest William Rudd [16] printer's apprentice.

On the pension card his father was at 42 Kingshall Street, Rougham.


He enlisted in Bury St Edmunds.
As ever, no service record and dying of wounds means we cannot be sure when or where he was wounded. The battalion had been shelled heavily as the moved towards Glencorse Wood around that time
