Born in 1894 (1st qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:789) son of Arthur and Mary Ann (née EVANS)

1901 census...Aged 7 he was at 69 Cannon Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Arthur NUNN [32] rag and bone buyer; his mother Mary Ann [33]; sisters Lizzie [13] and Lily [4]; brothers Charles [11], Frederick [9] and Arthur [2]. All were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

His father died in 1908

1911 census...Aged 17, a general dealer, he was at 68 Cannon Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his widowed mother ( a washerwoman); brothers Charles (labourer, Frederick (moulder), Arthur , Alfred [9], George [6] and Bertie [2]; sister Lily. His mother had lost 3 of her 12 children.

His mother married George SIZER (in 1912?) and was at 12 St Edmunds Place, Bury St.Edmunds


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.

War Diary for August 1915...14th A quiet day, nothing of note occurred. A wiring party had 6 rifle grenades thrown at them without any damage being done. One suspects if he could answer, William might disagree with that

William Henry Nunn is buried in Gunner's Farm Military Cemetery, Belgium B:6
and commemorated on the shrine in St Edmund's Place,Bury St.Edmunds.
