On 7th August, RAF Leuchars 224 squadron Lockheed Hudson Mk1 N7282 c/s QA-? was on a coastal reconnaissance off Norway and failed to return. One crew member, Sgt Stephen GRANT
was washed ashore and is buried in Trondheim(Stavne) Cemetery, Norway. Pilot Officer Roy Bruce FORBES, Sgt John Morgan OLIVER and Sgt George David TENNANT are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial
