Born in 2nd qtr 1901 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:970, son of Sydney Morgan and Elizabeth OLIVER (née HITCHCOCK)

1911 census...Aged 4, he was at 6 Southgate Green with his widower grandfather John George OLIVER,; brother Geoffrey Morgan Oliver; aunt Joan Morgan OLIVER [31] single, All born in Bury St.Edmunds. The parents of the two boys are Sydney Morgan OLIVER [6-3-1881] wine merchant; mother Elizabeth (née HITCHCOCK) [8-3-1878] at 8 St.Mary's Square, Bury St.Edmunds


On 7th August, RAF Leuchars 224 squadron Lockheed Hudson Mk1 N7282 c/s QA-? was on a coastal reconnaissance off Norway and failed to return. One crew member, Sgt Stephen GRANT was washed ashore and is buried in Trondheim(Stavne) Cemetery, Norway. Pilot Officer Roy Bruce FORBES, Sgt John Morgan OLIVER and Sgt George David TENNANT are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial
