1881 census...Aged 2, he was at Mablethorpe with his father John PARKR, [42] baker/confectioner; his mother Hester Annie [32]; brothers John Charles [8], Henry William [6], George Frederick [4] and Alfred James [5 months] born Mablethorpe. All except Ernest and brother Alfred were born in Louth 1891 census...Aged 12, he was at New Barn Cottage, Great Barton with his parents and brothers John C (baker/confectioner), George F, Alfred J and Frank A.[8] born Mablethorpe. 1901 census...It is assumed Ernest is in Canada. At 31/32 St. John's Street, Bury St.Edmunds were his parents, brother George ( bread maker), Alfred (chemist's assistant) and Frank ( bakers assistant). 1911 census...Again assumed Ernest is in Canada, family home still 31 St.John's Street, Bury St.Edmunds. A switchman on railway, had served 8 years in Northampton Regiment and four years on Reserves. He was 5 feet 8 inches tall, chest 36 to 40 inches, weighing
168 lbs, blue eyes, dark hair, Church of England. No. 14567, 34th Fort Garry Horse. Sailed to UK October 3rd 1914. Added to strength 32nd Reserve Battalion at Shornecliffe 7th May 1915, transferred to 10th Battalion, CEF 12th May, arrived France 14th May 1915. promoted Corporal, 9th February 9 days leave in UK Posted Instructor Grenade School 15th April 1916. 9th June 1916 accident at Divisional Grenade School, severely wounded, admitted 10 CCS .
