Born in 1885 (2nd qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:665) Robert John and Sabina PARKER (née SPARKE)

1891 census...Aged 6 he was at 10 Cannon Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his Father Robert J PARKER [36] printer/compositor; his mother Sabina [35]; brother Edward John [3]. All were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

1901 census...Aged 16, a grocer's clerk, he was still at 10 Cannon Street with his parents and brother Edward.

1911 census...Aged 26, a grocer's clerk, he was at 9 Whiting Street. Bury St.Edmunds with his parents and brother Edward John (County Council clerk)

He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds on 4th November 1916, giving his age as 32 years 6 months, a grocer's assistant of 9 Whiting Street, Bury St.Edmunds, single. Placed on Reserves and mobilised into the Queen's Regiment on 26th February 1917, No.48498. He was 5 feet 7.5 inches tall, weighed 105 lbs, chest 29.5 to 32 inches. Next of kin father Robert John PARKER of 9 Whiting Street, Bury St.Edmunds.
He served at home 1-10-1916 to 10-3-1917. With BEF 13-3-1917 to 29 June 11917. Attached to No.3 Canadian Clearing Station.16-6-1917
He died of cerebo spinal fever at No.7 General Hospital St.Omer
All Army communications after his death were with Miss Hilda REEVE, 20 Guildhall Street, Bury St.Edmunds. Her address for reception of his medals was Scotia House, Thetford Road, Ixworth. On 7-5-1919 his father completed Army Form 5080 and declared just himself and John's mother Sabina and brother E J Parker [31] all at 9 Whiting Street, Bury St.Edmunds as living relatives
