There is confusion here between what the Bury Free Press have and other records. The BFP states he was in the Army 2 years before the war and was in France by 6th August but the medal index card has no 1914 star. Also his father is G W Peck in the BFP, not Walter James, and no marriage has been found for a G W Peck, but the was one in 1912 for George E Peck to Florence J HULL ...any help here would be most welcome

Born in 1895 (1st qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:825) son of Walter James and Ellen Martha PECK (née BAKER)

1901 census...Aged 6, he was at 100 Northgate Street,Bury St.Edmunds with his mother Ellen M PECK [35] born Hawstead. His brother Leslie Charles [7] was with his aunt Elizabeth PECK [31] (single, born Stowmarket) at 1 Sparhawk Street, Bury St.Edmunds. His father [36] born Stowmarket, a millwright, was boarding at 18 Stroud Road, Gloucester

1911 census...Not yet found in this census. At 40 Bloomfield Street were his parents, father Walter James PECK [48] millwright born Stowmarket); brothers Leslie Charles [17], Jack [7] and Gordon K [6]. the children all born in Bury St.Edmunds.

On the pension card his mother, Mrs E.M.PECK is at 1 Fox Street, Nottingham Road, Derby.
His legatee was Mary L OSBORNE


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds. He died at No.1 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station
