1891 census...Aged 5 months, he was at Pound Cottage, Nowton with his father William PULFER [37] farm labourer born Great Welnetham; his mother Jane [39] born Lidgate 1901 census...Aged 20, he was a gardener at Hardwick Bothy. 1911 census...Aged 30, a gardener, he was boarding with James and Agnes GATES ar Papworth Everard. The family so far have not been located in several census, and there is no indication as to when they moved to Bury St.Edmunds Mother on pension card was at 8 New Buildings, Noorthgate Street, Bury St.Edmunds. |

War Diary :- Hohenzellern Sector..24 Nov...From 8 am to 11 am the enemy carried put an organised strafe with mortars of all sizes. Considerable damage was done to our trenches, the sap at the top of LINCOLN ST being blown in. Retaliation was asked for by the right sector but the spasmodic efforts of our own 18 pdrs and Stokes mortars seemed unable to make any impression. At 10 am a medium TM fell close to the junction of VIGO Street and SAVILLE ROW killing four men and wounding 5 others The enemy seemd to been searching for our TMs round DRUMMOND TRENCH and SAVILLE ROW.
