Born in 1894 (1st qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:789) son of George and Annie SPINK (née PRESCOTT)

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at 20 Angel Hill, Bury St.Edmunds with his mother [43] born South Molton, Devon; brothers Francis W [17] iron moulder, Sydney G [14] upholsterer's clerk and Percy [11]; sister Evelyn M [9]. All the children were born in Bury St.Edmunds. His father George SPINK [53] was butler for Walter Poley at Edwardstone House.

His father died in 1902

1911 census...Aged 17, household furnishings, he was at 8A Electric Avenue, Lambeth. His widowed mother and sisters Frances and Evelyn were at 20 Angel Hill still


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.

The Brigade were in support of an operation against METEREN on 19th July.
