24th December 1876. He was the twin of Frederick Walter STADEN who died in 1877.
1881 census...Aged 4, he was at 14 High Baxter Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Joseph Charles STADEN [50] plumber/painter born London; his mother Eliza [45] born Hengrave; sisters Susan Agnes [21] and Kate [16]; brother George William [8]. All the children were born in Bury St.Edmunds. 1891 census...He is not identified in this census. At 30 Hacker Street, Chelsea were his parents with his uncle Walter Staden's family. Sister Susan had married Charles FELTON and was at 5A Meat Market, Bury St.Edmunds His father died in 1899 1901 census...Aged 24, a draper's assistant, he was at 9 Margarets E, Marylebone, residence of staff of Peter Robinson Ltd. His mother is at 13 Orchard Street, Bury St.Edmunds 1911 census...Aged 34, a draper's traveller, he was boarding at 7 Fynes Street, Westminster. His widowed mother is at 7 Cornhill, Bury St.Edmunds with his sister Susan FELTON and her husband |

The war diary has 15th Angres Sector - Dull, very cold. Battalion relieved in trenches by the 1st Royal Fusiliers and proceeded to FOSSE 10 in Divisional Reserve. Battalion in billets. 2:Lt G GILL and 2 Lt EL MOODY returned from course of instruction... 50308 PTE STADEN W died in hospital of accidental injuries received on the light railway.
