Born in 1st qtr 1920 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:2272, son of Charles and Elizabeth Jane THOMPSON (née NUNN). CWGC have his mother as Elizabeth Caroline ?.
His mother died in 1922 and father ( a sheet metal worker) married Nellie Ellen JENNER (née BARTELL) in 1936. (she was divorced from William JENNER)

He married Joyce Irene Maude BUMPSTEAD in Bury St.Edmunds in 1943, they lived at "New House" Hospital Road, Bury St.Edmunds with his father (sheet metal worker) and stepmother Nellie


It appears he contracted a fever when fighting in Burma with the Chindits.
