Born in 2nd qtr 1908 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:965, son of William Francis and Emily WARREN (née THEOBALD). In 1939 they were still at 51 Northgate Street. His mother died in 1943.

1911 census...Aged 3,he was at 51 Northgate Street,Bury St.Edmunds with his father William Francis WARREN [35] carman on railway, born Icklingham; his mother Emily [37] born Lavenham; brother William Francis [6]; sisters Annie E [4] and Rose Ethel [4 months]. All the children were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

He married Joan Lilian YOUNG of Bognor Regis, Sussex in Bury St.Edmunds in 1942.
