Born 2nd qtr 1894 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:743, son of Robert and Elizabeth Emma WILKIN (née SEAKENS)

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at 1 Reed's Buildings, Chalk Lane, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Robert WILKIN [44] iron moulder; his mother Elizabeth[43]; brothers Frederick George [15] (wire worker), and Walter E [9]; sisters Florence E [14] and Lilian M [5]. All were born in Bury St.Edmunds

His mother died in 1905

1911 census...Aged 17, he was a Special Reservist in 3rd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment at the depot in Bury St.Edmunds, civilian occupation grocer's assistant. His widower father was alone at 15 St Andrews Street South, Bury St.Edmunds. Sister Lilian Maud was with her grandmother Eliza SEAKENS at College Lane, Bury St.Edmunds.

His father died in 1916


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds. 10 Casualty Clearing Station was at what was known during the war as Remy Sidings, it is now the site of Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. Dying of wounds and no service record found, it is not possible to say exactly where or when he was wounded
