Born in 2nd qtr 1884 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:658, son of Alfred and Jane Mary WILLIAMS (née HUDSON)

1891 census...Aged 6, he was at 48 St.Andrews Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Alfred WILLIAMS [36] joiner; his mother Jane M [34] born Higham; sister Mabel [8]; brothers Ewart W [5] and Arthur [3]. All except his mother were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

1901 census...Aged 16, clothier's assistant, he was still at 48 St Andrews Street with his parents; brothers Ewart (grocer's assistant) and Archibald (Arthur).

He married Stoke on Trent born Martha Jane BERESFORD [6-1-1884] later of 26 Smith Street, Hanley.
1911 census...Aged 27, a clothier's assistant, he was at 76 Tintern Street, Hanley, Staffs with his wife Martha Jane [27] born Stoke on Trent;their daughter Doris Louise [28-2-1908] born Hanley; brother in law Wilfred William BERESFORD [13] boot trade assistant born Sandbach; sister in law Florence BERESFORD [13] tailor's apprentice born Sandbach


He enlisted in Longton, Staffs when resident in Hanley. Dying of wounds as a Base Hospital, and the lack of service records, there is no way of saying exactly or when he was wounded.
