Born in 3rd qtr 1921 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1597, son of Archibald Arthur and Agnes WILLIAMS (née WEBB)
In the 1939 register his parents were at 63 Westley Road, Bury St Edmunds, father an engineering progress clerk


Short Stirling Mk 1 W7472 c/s MG-C of 7 Squadron took off from RK Oakington on a night raid to Emdem. Shot down by night fighter and crashed off Bergen aan Zee
The Crew were:- Pilot - P/O E D Calvert; 2nd pilot - F/Lt A W Bevan; Navigator - P/O B A Trapp; Engineer - Sgt J H Williams; W/Op - P/O J R Heslop (RCAF); Front Gunner - Sgt A Cadden; Rear Gunner - Sgt R N Parham; Mid Upper Gunner - Sgt Granshaw.

Having crashed in the sea off Bergen aan Zee and buried in Den Helder suggests he was washed ashore near Den Helder. Bevan, Cadden and Heslop apparently found near Bergen. The rest are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
