1891 census...Aged 9, he was at Ashburton Road, Ickburgh with his father Thomas SPINKS [41]farm labourer born Swaffham; his mother Mary A [38] ; sisters Alice M [11] and Mary V [4]; brothers Frederick J [7], George A [1] and Ernest E [5 months]. All except his father were born in Ickburgh. 1901 census...Aged 20, a farm labourer, he was at The Cottages, Langford with his widower father; brother Fred (under gamekeeper), Ernest [9] and George 11. His mother had died in 1893. He married Rose Ellen MOULE in 1906 [9-7-1878] 1911 census...Aged 29, a farm labourer, he was at The Street, Croxton, with his wife Rose [32] born Croxton; daughters Violet [5] and Lily [3] both born in Thetford On the pension card his widow was at 45 Bury Road, Thetford. Their childrens' birth dates were Violet Florrie [28-8-1906], Lily Jessie [8-8-1908], Frederick George [24-7-1911] and Sidney Walter [16-11-1913]. "Soldiers Died" has him resident in Chevington. |
