Thomas GREY was born in 1898 in Alconbury (Huntingdon Q2-1898 3B:285), son of Robert Christopher and Minnie GREY (née ROBINSON).

1901 census...Aged 3, he was at "Brooklands" North Road, Alconbury with his father Robert C. GREY [28] farmer, born Whittonstall, Northumberland; his mother Minnie [30] born Stubton, Lincolnshire; brother Christopher W [5] born Woodford, Northants

1911 census...Aged 13, he was at the East Anglian School for Boys in Bury St.Edmunds. His parents and brothers George Leslie [7] and Henry [7 months], both born in Alconbury, were still at "Brooklands" North Road, Alconbury.

From the "East Anglian Record" it appears he was in Form IV at Christmas 1913



Dying of his wounds at a Base Hospital and his service records not found, it is impossible to say where or when he was wounded.
He had been awarded the Military Medal, but it is seldom that a citation for this medal can be found.
