Cyril George JACKSON was born in 1896, (Windsor Q3-1896 2C:449) son of William Henry and Florence Naomi JACKSON (née TAYLOR).

1901 census...Aged 5, he was at 47 Thames Street, Clewer, Windsor with his father, widower William Henry JACKSON [43] a master tailor and town councillor, born Hull, Yorkshire; his sisters Naomi Florence [17] and Ida A [10]; brother William Henry C [7]. All the children were born in Windsor. His mother had died in Windsor in 1899

His father re-married in 1904 to Elizabeth Eliza COX.

1911 census...Not found in this census, he was not at the East Anglian School then. His father was still at 47 Thames Street, Clewer with his second wife, Elizabeth Eliza [50] born Reading; sister Ida Annie (draper's assistant) and brother William Henry Cheal (tailor's ?).

His East Anglian School connection is from the details in the school roll of honour.

The pension card has his stepmother at 221 The Broadway, Cricklewood, later moving to 63 Westbourne Park Road, Bayswater.


He enlisted in Slough, while resident in Eton and died at No.1 Canadian Clearing Station at Adinkerke, Belgium. Stepmother's address in his pension card ( which actually says he was killed in action) was 221 The Broadway, Cricklewood, later to 63 Westbourne Park Road, Bayswater
In the absence of his Army records, especially as an artillery man, it cannot be stated where or when he was wounded.
