Bertie William Sparrow was born in Denham (2nd qtr 1891 Thingoe 4a:790) son of George and Eliza SPARROW (née EVERETT) His father died in 1897

1901 census...Aged 9, he was at Denham Road, Denham with his widowed mother Eliza SPARROW [43]; sister Daisy E [11] and brother Henry C [8]. All were born in Denham

1911 census...Aged 19, he was in Denham with his mother and brother Henry Cecil. Both men were farm labourers

On the pension card his mother was c/o Post Office, Barrow or at Denham Green (CWGC)



He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds
The battalion were just NW of Beaurevoir, attacking NE towards Serain CWGC has 39 of the battalion killed on 8th October.



Bertie Sparrow is buried in Beaurevoir British Cemetery, D:15
