Charles Herbert Crack was born in Great Barton (2nd qtr 1893 Thingoe 4a:785) son of Herbert and Kate Maud Mary CRACK (née CORNISH)

1901 census...Aged 7, he was in East Barton with his father Herbert CRACK [36], a farmer; his mother Kate [30] born Rougham; sister Mary V [1]. All except his mother born in Great Barton

1911 census...Aged 17, a farm worker, he was at Highfield Farm, Rougham with his parents, sister Mary Violet and brother Sidney Albert [7] born Great Barton.

On the pension card his mother was at East Barton



He enlisted in Great Barton.
The battalion was temporarily attached to 18th Infantry Brigade at Maroc, employed in tactical digging. 2 men were killed by shell fire on 23rd; Charles Crack and Joseph Hale from Shimpling
