Cecil Henry Crick was born in Great Barton (2nd qtr 1896 Thingoe 4a:797) son of George and Lottie Jane CRICK (née VINCENT)

1901 census...Aged 5, he was at School Road, Great Barton with his father George CRICK [46] farm labourer born Cockfield; his mother Lottie [36] born Walsham le Willows; sisters Edith A [10], Dorothy M [8] and Elsie N [1]; brother Herbert G [5]. All the children were born in Great Barton.

1911 census...Aged 15, a farm labourer, he was still at School Road with his parents and sisters Elsie Nellie, Beatrice Lottie [9] and May Vincent [7]

On the pension card his mother was at Rose Cottage, and then Thurston Road, Great Barton.



He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds
On 15th December 1917, after the taking of Jerusalem on the 9th, the battalion captured Bornat Hill, suffering 75 casualties in the process ( 11 of them killed).
