All the children were born in Great Saxham. 1911 census...Aged 15 he was at Saxham Hall, Great Saxham with his parents. On the pension card his father was at Cheveley Park Gardens, Newmarket |

He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds
At the time of his death, his battlion were in the process of making Hill 60 a redoubt. This was important as from the crest both the Turkish and British positions were overlooked.
