Ernest George BULLETT was born in Hessett (1st qtr 1894 Stow 4a:813), son of Beatrice Louisa BULLETT. In 1901 his mother married Edward Walter CONSTABLE in Hessett.

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at Spring Cottages, Hessett with his grandfather George BULLETT [64] a farm labourer; his grandmother Amelia [64]; aunt Ruth [33] and uncle Solomon [29] farm labourer. All were born in Hessett.

1911 census...Aged 17, a farm labourer, he was in Hessett with his uncle Solomon BULLETT and widowed grandmother Amelia. His mother was at 84 Chalk Lane, Bury St. Edmunds with his stepfather Edward CONSTABLE [34] coal carman born North Ormesby, Yorkshire. His mother died in the 3rd qtr 1911.

He married Ethel Mary PYETT [10-4-1884] on 2nd October 1915.

On the pension card his widow was at Park Green, Wetheringsett. CWGC have her married to CATCHPOLE, living at Brockford Green, Stowmarket. She actually married George H CATCHPOLE in 1924.



He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.
The war diary states it was a quiet day, they were improving trenches, albeit enemy artillery was busy at night. Just 2 were killed, neither has a known grave.
