1881 census...Aged 5, he was at Honington with his father George GODDARD [46] farm ;labourer born Fakenham; his mother [44] born Kenninghall, Norfolk; brothers Edward [18] farm labourer born Fakenham, George [14] farm labourer, John [8]and Walter [2]; sister Emily [9]. All the children except Edward were born in Honington

1891 census...Aged 15, a farm labourer, he was at Mill Lane, Honington with his parents; brothers George Henry, William John and Walter Charles; widower grandfather John GODDARD

His Queens South Africa medal carries the clasps for Cape Colony - Orange Free State and Transvaal,
