Arthur Wiliam Boreham was born in Horringer (4th qtr 1893 Thingoe 4a:722) son of George and Rosina Maria BOREHAM(née WRIGHT).

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at The Street, Horringer with his father George BOREHAM [44] horsekeeper on estate, born Horringer; his mother Rosina M [46] born Brettenham; brothers George [18] stablehand born Bury St.Edmunds and Albert [10] born Horringer; sister Beatrice M [12] born Horringer.

1911 census...Aged 17, farm labourer, he was at Horringer with his parents and sister Beatrice Mary

On the pension card his parents were at Horringer, but on death of his mother, his father moved to 115 King's Road, Bury St.Edmunds.


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.
War Diary:-
Before Ecoust on 30th Aug..At 5am the 76th Bde attacked Ecoust. The objective was achieved with slight casualties, but owing to the battalion being unable to secure its flanks it had to fall back to the line of ECOUST TRENCH at about 11am. Relieved that night by the 13th Kings Liverpool Regiment

CWGC have 50 killed.
