Edmund Frank Bowers was born (1st qtr 1993 Thingoe 4a:781) son of John and Sarah BOWERS (née FOSTER).

1901 census...Aged 8, he was at "Briar Cottage", Horringer with his father John BOWERS [48] carpenter born Horringer; his mother Sarah [44] born Adbury Lodge, Hants; sister Gladys [9] born Horringer; uncle William FOSTER [48] stonemason born Devonshire.

1911 census...Aged 18, hall boy at Colney Hall, nr Norwich. His parents were still at Briar Cottage, Horringer with his sister Gladys.

He enlisted in Worthing.
The 1/4th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment disembarked at Suvla Bay on 8th August 1915. Edmund was reported missing 2 days later and presumed dead.
