Mervyn Buxton was born on 5th May 1903 in Norwich (2nd qtr 1903 Blofield Union 4b:206) son of Edward Gurney and Laura BUXTON (née GURNEY). Baptised at Thorpe Episcopi on 3st May 1903

1911 census...Aged 7, he was at Catton Hall, Old Catton, Norwich with his father Edward Gurney BUXTON [45] bank director born West Ham; his mother Laura [35] born Earlham; sisters Valerie Isabel [14] born Eaton, Daphne [5] and Phyllis [4] both born in Thorpe; brothers Hubert Edward [9] and Mark [1] both born in Thorpe and 11 servants

His father died in 1929. In the 1939 register he was Manager of Manufacturing Chemist, living at 13 Eldon Road, North Kensington His mother, wife and sister Jacinth were at Horringer Court, Horringer.

He married Carmela Mary Beatrice LYON in Kensington on 25th October 1932. They had 2 sons, Simon and Ian. For probate the address was 49 Coleherne Court, SW5. His widow later married Maurice W LIGHTFOOT in Kensington in 1947



He died in Queen Mary's Hospital, Chislehurst, Kent
