Stanley Hardcastle was born on 8th December 1919 (1st qtr 1920 West Ham 4a:229) son of Harry and Ethel Grace Falconer HARDCASTLE (née STOCK).

in the 1939 register he was a motor driver, living at 94 Plaistow Road, West Ham with his father Harry [4-7-1880] a shop manager; his mother Ethel [25-8-1886]; sisters Ethel [2-2-1914] dress maker, Lilian [2-4-1916] butcher's assistant, Grace [14-7-1917] waitress and Marjorie [31-8-1923] tea packer.

The CWGC have his parents in Horringer



From the letter sent to his mother, he was driving a Jeep and was hit and wounded by a shell burst, from which he failed to recover.



Originally buried in Quesnay-Guesnon, he was re-interred in Bayeux on 24th April 1945
