Julius Garner was born on 22nd September 1900 in Holmfirth(4th qtr 1900 Huddersfield 9a:256) son of Thomas Giles and Esther Ann GARNER(née ROBERTS). He was baptised at Holmbridge on 28th October 1900

1911 census...Aged 10, he was at Loft Farm, Bradfield Combust with his father Thomas Giles GARNER [45] farmer born London; his mother Esther Ann [46] born Austonley, Yorks; brother Morris [7] born Willesden.

He married Boxted born Mabel Emma PETTIT [4-3-1894] in Bury St.Edmunds in 1934. She was at 8 Lambs Lane, Lawshall in the 1939 register (1 closed record)
The 1939 Register has his brother Morris and his wife and widowed mother at Loft Farm, Bradfield Combust.



Julius was stationed at RAF Hemswell Lincs (Bomber Command). He died at Loft's Farm, Cockfield, but resident at Rectory Road, Lawshall. His mother died in November at Loft Farm (variously recorded as Cockfield or Bradfield Combust.)

The death certificate gives the place of death as a meadow near Lofts Fam, Cockfield. Death caused by shooting himself whilst the balance of his mind was disturbed (no personal message). He was resident at 8 Lambs Lane, Lawshall,
