Charles Edward Leech was born on 21st August 1912 in Fornham All Saints (3rd qtr 1912 Bury St. Edmunds 4a:1827), son of Frances LEECH.

On the 1936 and 1939 electoral rolls Charles was at Grimston Road, Pakenham.

His Japanese PoW card gives his father as Reginald C WATTS, New House Cottage, Pakenham. No marriage to Frances Leech has been found. Charles was a general labourer, captured at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese on 15th February 1942.


He was originally buried at Sonkrai Cemetery and transferred to Thanbyuzayat in December 1945.
