John Michael Wentworth Reeve was born in 1920 (2nd qtr 1920 Winchester 2c:267), son of Maj.Gen J.T.W CBE DSO and Mrs S.A.REEVE (née AGNEW).

He lived at "Karridale", West Byfleet, Surrey (probate). ( The Army Roll of Honour has his residence as Suffolk) His maternal grandfather was Sir George AGNEW of Rougham.




From the Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment he was commissioned in the Rifle Brigade on 3rd July 1941. He died the day that the Afrika Corps captured Tobruk,
John however was originally found near Bir-el-Gubi some miles south of Tobruk and re-interred in Knightsbridge War Cemetery, Libya, in 1944. The press article has the wrong date (according to all other records seen)
