1901 census...Aged 5, he was at Rushbrooke with his father Arthur BARKER [28] farm labourer born Rougham; his mother Elizabeth [38] and sister Ada [2]. All except his father were born in Rushbrooke 1911 census...Aged 15, a farm labourer, he was at 22 Rushbrooke with his parents and sister Ada On the pension card his father was still at 22 Rushbrooke. |
He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.
He died at 22nd (London) Casualty Clearing Station at Grove Town. Without his Army service records it cannot be said exactly where he was or when he was wounded. The battalion at the time were involved in the battle of Flers-Courcelette
