Harry Simper was born in Little Livermere in 1900 (Thingoe Q2-1900 4A:882), son of Amos William and Agnes SIMPER (née PHILLIPS).
1901 census... Aged 1, he was at Ixworth Road, Ixworth Thorpe with his mother Agnes SIMPER [24] born Great Barton, visiting the KEMP family. His father Amos William SIMPER [36] farm labourer born Ixworth Thorpe, was at The Heath, Troston on his own. 1911 census... Aged 11, he was boarding at Barrow with Harry and Agnes ROWLING. His mother was an inmate at the Bury St.Edmunds Union Workhouse and Infirmary, 36 Mill Road, Bury St Edmunds, apparently having born 4 children, of which one had died. His father has not been found in this census. His father died in 1923 and his mother married William STONE later that year and lived at 11 Aberdeen Place, Southgate Street, Bury St Edmunds. No connection with Stansfield has yet been discovered. |

He enlisted in Ipswich while resident in Bury St Edmunds.
He died at the Depot at Hempton Park, in an accident, the nature of which is currently unknown.
