Aged 16, a farm labourer, he was at Commercial End, Swaffham Bulbeck with his parents, brothers Albert (farm labourer), Alfred James and George William [3] and sister Hilda [7] both born in Swaffham Bulbeck. |

He enlisted in Cambridge.
His was the only death in the Brigade that day. His Army records have not been found and where his unit was has also proved impossible to find.
His Military Medal was gazetted on 21st September 1916.There is no citation.
