William James Hazelwood was born in Tostock (1st qtr 1892 Stow 4a:789), son of Harry Herbert and Rosetta HAZELWOOD (née PIPER).

1901 census...Aged 9, he was at Place Farm, Tostock with his father Henry Herbert HAZELWOOD [41] horseman born Gedding; his mother Rosetta [32]; brothers Charles H [11] and Fredk John [7]; sisters Olive R [5] and Lucy [1]. All except his father were born in Tostock

1911 census...Aged 19, farm labourer, he was at Flatt's Lane, Tostock with his parents (father now farm bailiff); brothers Charles (domestic groom), Fred (farm labourer), Reuben [8], Clifford [2] and Donald [ 4 months]; sisters Olive and Barbara [5]; grandfather James PIPER.

The pension card has his mother at Flatts Lane, Tostock





He enlisted in Bury St. Edmunds.
