"In honour of 58 old East Anglians who gave their lives in the Great War and of some 400 others who served in it". Mr.Newman handed Mrs. Hartley a key tied with the school colours and the lady duly declared the pavilion open, amid applause.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.
