Roy GOODWIN was born on 6th September 1919, (Hartismere Q4-1919 4A:1914) son of Alfred Edward and Laura Muriel GOODWIN (née BURNIP), of Upper Weybread, Suffolk

In the 1939 register he was assisting his father on the farm, Oak Farm, Weybread, Suffolk with his brother Norman A GOODWIN [26-6-1913] and mother Laura M [24-9-1884]. His father [21-5-1883], a farmer, was at Markham House, Maori Road, Guildford, which appears to have been some sort of care home.


On 23rd February 1943 the Allies were forcing the Germans back from Tebessa towards the Kasserine Pass




First buried at El Kef, then moved to Medjez-el-Bab

Roy Goodwin is buried in Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia grave 16:C:17
He was one of many exhumed from Le Kef Communal Cemetery and re-interred on 19th June 1944.
