1891 census...Aged 3 he was at 95 Cannon Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Tom [27] groom/gardener born Long Melford; his mother Harriet [24] born Wickhambrook; sister Mabel E [1] born Bury St.Edmunds; visitor Mary Ann LILLY [23] born Long Melford

1901 census...None of the family have been identified in this census.

1911 census...Aged 23, a grocer's assistant, he was at 40 Southgate Street, Bury St Edmunds with his parents; brother Harry [15] butcher's assistant born in Newmarket; sisters Ivy [13] and Dora [11]

His brother Harry Charles died in Palestine in 1917 see here


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.
