As trooper 20217 Arthur Sexton in 44 (Suffolk) Company 12 Battalion Imperial Yeomanry he gained the Queen's South Africa medal with clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 which he is wearing in his photo here.
He enlisted in Guernsey on 15th October 1900. Originally buried beside his brother at Chemin des Dames (death 14th) they were moved to Vailly in 1919. There are several dates recorded for his death, but the CWGC concentration card has 14th September for all five men moved from Chemin des Dames, including his brother, so presumably an entire gun crew. Even CWGC records are different. Brother Bertie's headstone has 14th inscribed, his is 15th.
