Ernest Frank Rose was born in Rougham (2nd qtr 1896 Thingoe 4a:788) son of Charles and Sarah ROSE (née SUTTON)

1901 census...Aged 4, he was at 10 Chapel Yard, Rougham with his father Charles ROSE,[29] threshing machine labourer, born Bradfield St George; his mother Sarah [28] born Rougham; sister Ethel Alice [8] born Denaby Main, Yorkshire; brothers Charles Henry [7], Horace [2] and Percy Harry [2 months]. All the boys were born in Rougham.

1911 census...Aged 14, a farm labourer, he was at Kingshall Green, Rougham with his parents, brothers Charles, Horace, Percy, Albert Edward [7] and George (less than 1 month); sister Grace [2]. The children were still being born in Rougham.

The address of his mother on the pension card is "near Chapel" Bradfield St George

His brother Horace was killed in 1917 see here


He enlisted in Rougham
