1891 census...Aged 4, He was at 54 Whiting Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father George FORD [50] labourer born in Ripe, Sussex; his mother Frances M [32] born Lttle Saxham; brothers George H [10] and Percy R [8] born Bury St.Edmunds, William A [6] and Charles L [1] born Little Saxham. 1901 census...Aged 13, he was at 36 Church Walk, Bury St.Edmunds wth his parents (father now recorded as Army pensioner); brothers Percy (labourer), Charles, Sidney [9] and Herbert [5] both born Bury St.Edmunds. 1911 census...Aged 24, a labourer, he was at Lambert Place, Bury St.edmunds with his parents; brothers Charles and Sidney (labourers) and Herbert. his mother had lost one of her 7 children (Percy had died in 1909). He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds. Dying from his wounds and in the absence of his Army records, it s impossible to state where or when he was wounded. The 1st Suffolk were in the Ypres salient at the end of April, beginning of May 1915
